Position Details

Department of Forestry, Agriculture and Lands | 911 Division

The 911 Division is seeking an experienced and detail oriented Senior Programmer Analyst (GIS) to support the province wide 911 service and enhancements related. Reporting to the Director of the 911 Division, this position will work closely with existing GIS resources to capture, process, and integrate civic addressing data provided by communities across the province. The successful candidate will play a key role in processing civic addressing submissions, ensuring data completeness, accuracy, and readiness for use within the NG911 environment. Using ESRI GIS technologies including ESRI ArcGIS tools, ESRI ArcGIS Server technology, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, and ArcGIS Online, this role will support data validation and quality assurance processes to help prepare, implement and maintain a NG911 service in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Screening Criteria

  1. Undergraduate Degree in Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Geospatial Science, Geomatics, Geography or related field (equivalencies will be considered)
  2. 4-5 years’ experience in the design, implementation, maintenance and evaluation of innovative GIS solutions using ESRI GIS technologies (i.e. ArcGIS tools, ArcGIS Server technology, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, and ArcGIS Online)
  3. Experience in digital base mapping and emergency zone mapping with an understanding of civic addressing requirements that support a 911 service (asset)
