What We're Looking For

BreatheSuite is seeking a Head of Finance & Revenue Cycle Management to own end-to-end financial operations with a primary focus on building an AI-native revenue cycle that maximizes cash flow and minimizes manual intervention.

This is a senior leadership role reporting directly to the CEO. You will be responsible for architecting a revenue cycle where AI handles the heavy lifting — coding optimization, denial prediction, payer behavior analysis, and collections prioritization — while you focus on strategy, exception management, and scaling financial operations as the company grows.

This role is ideal for someone who understands healthcare revenue deeply, sees AI and automation as the default operating model rather than an add-on, and can move between strategy and execution in a high-growth environment. If you're a strong financial professional without deep RCM experience but have a track record of building AI-driven financial operations, we're eager to meet you.

Responsibilities

AI-Native Revenue Cycle Management (Primary)

• Own the full revenue cycle from charge capture through collections, with a mandate to automate aggressively.
• Deploy and manage AI-powered tools for coding accuracy, claim scrubbing, denial prediction, and appeals generation.
• Build intelligent workflows that route only true exceptions to human review, reducing manual touchpoints across the cycle.
• Use predictive analytics to identify denial, underpayment, and delay patterns before they impact cash flow.
• Lead and manage a lean team of billing specialists and external partners, augmented by AI tooling.
• Establish RCM KPIs and real-time reporting dashboards that surface actionable insights automatically.

Cash Flow & Financial Operations

• Own AI-assisted cash flow forecasting and short- to medium-term planning.
• Build predictive models that align expected collections with operational and hiring plans.
• Monitor days in AR, collection cycles, and payer lag using automated alerting and trend analysis.
• Support budgeting and financial planning tied to growth, informed by machine learning-driven revenue projections.

Contracting & Reimbursement Strategy

• Support payer contracting and reimbursement strategy alongside leadership.
• Model reimbursement scenarios and financial impact of new contracts using AI-powered simulation tools.
• Track payer performance through automated scorecards and identify optimization opportunities proactively.

Reporting & Governance

• Prepare clear, concise financial reporting for the CEO and board, powered by automated data pipelines.
• Translate financial performance into operational insights using AI-generated analysis and anomaly detection.
• Ensure financial controls and processes scale appropriately, with audit trails built into automated workflows.

Team & Process Ownership

• Build, manage, and scale a finance and billing function designed around AI-first principles — small team, high leverage.
• Continuously evaluate and implement emerging AI tools for RCM, coding, and financial operations.
• Partner closely with operations, clinical leadership, and sales to ensure the revenue engine supports company-wide growth.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in healthcare finance, revenue cycle, or related roles.
• Deep experience with CPT-based billing and healthcare reimbursement.
• Proven ownership of revenue cycle performance and cash flow management.
• Hands-on experience deploying or managing AI/automation tools in revenue cycle or financial operations (e.g., AI-powered coding, denial management, predictive analytics, or RPA).
• Experience managing lean billing teams or external billing vendors augmented by technology.
• Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and reporting skills — comfort with data-driven and algorithmic approaches.
• Comfortable working in a fast-moving, growth-stage company where building from scratch is the norm.
• Deep conviction that AI is transforming revenue cycle management and eagerness to be at the leading edge of that shift.
• Experience in digital health or telehealth is an asset, not required.
• Experience with grant accounting is an asset, not required.
