We've already shipped 400 consumer headsets to 16 countries, completed 4 hardware revisions in 12 months, and navigated international manufacturing from Newfoundland. We've secured a major R&D contract and have 5 industrial pilots committed for this summer.

As our first dedicated firmware developer, you won't just write code, you'll own the firmware architecture, make critical decisions about reliability, connectivity, and power management, and ship software that performs in industrial conditions where failure isn't an option. You'll work directly with our CEO and CTO.

‍AI-Native Development

We're an AI-native team. You'll use Claude Code, Cursor, and Copilot daily to accelerate development, generating drivers, test harnesses, utilities, and boilerplate, then critically review and harden that code for production embedded systems. AI isn't a replacement for deep embedded engineering judgment. It's a multiplier. If you're not already using AI tools in your embedded work, you should be curious and motivated enough to start on day one.

What You'll Do

As a Founding Firmware Engineer, you will play a key role in architecting, building, and scaling the firmware powering Audyse’s IoT headsets. You will:

Own firmware development as we scale from prototype to fleet deployment.
Architect and harden device firmware for reliability, uptime, and long-term field use.
Develop and maintain secure bootloaders, OTA update flows, and system resiliency.
Collaborate closely with our CTO and a lean cross-functional engineering/ops team.
Prototype new features and integrations rapidly, influencing hardware and product direction.
Leverage AI tools to accelerate development of modular components, diagnostics, and test infrastructure — while maintaining strict code quality and system-level integrity.

What You Need

5+ years developing and deploying production firmware for MCUs or system-on-modules
Strong proficiency in Embedded C/C++, specifically targeting ARM/STM32 platforms
Experience with FreeRTOS (tasks, drivers, memory, synchronization, timers)
Wireless & connectivity experience: 4G LTE (AT commands/PPP), Wi-Fi, MQTT, sockets/web servers
Power management and low-power optimization
Bootloader/secure boot and OTA firmware update design
Hardware bring-up: oscilloscopes, logic analyzers (Saleae), JTAG/SWD

What You’ll Do

This is not a traditional BDR role, it’s a chance to help build the commercial engine of a deep-tech startup.

You will:

Lead sales outreach, qualification, and discovery with enterprise and mid-market industrial customers.
Run customer discovery to deeply understand problems, workflows, and buying processes.
Help shape our storytelling, messaging, and positioning based on real customer insights.
Work with the founding team to build and refine landing pages, funnels, and experiments to test what resonates.
